Knowing when each handyman is free helps you assign installations without conflicts. The portal pulls each handyman’s schedule automatically so you can see their available time slots at a glance — directly from the handyman table or via their detailed profile.

Availability status indicators

Every handyman carries one of four availability statuses, visible as a coloured badge in the Availability column of the table:
The handyman has no active jobs and is ready to accept new assignments. When you filter by Available, only handymen with this status appear in the list.
The handyman is currently assigned to one or more active jobs. The portal sets this status automatically when a job is assigned to the handyman.
The handyman is temporarily unavailable. They will not appear in the suggested list when you are assigning a new installation.
The handyman’s account setup is not yet complete. Their profile exists in the system but they are not yet active. You can still view their record and contact them through the portal.

View a handyman’s daily schedule

Each row in the handyman table includes a View availability link directly below the status badge. Clicking it opens the handyman’s profile modal with the Availability tab pre-selected.

Review the day-by-day schedule

The Availability tab shows a rolling list of days. Each day card displays:
  • Day name and date — abbreviated day name (e.g., MON) and the calendar date.
  • Status badge — green Available or grey Busy for that specific day.
  • Time slots — one or more time ranges showing when the handyman is free (e.g., 09:00 - 13:00). If the handyman is available for the day but no specific slots have been configured, the card shows No specific slots.
  • Unavailable message — if the handyman is marked unavailable for a given day, the card shows Unavailable for this day.
You can also reach the Availability tab by clicking anywhere on a handyman’s row to open their full profile, then selecting the Availability tab manually.

How availability affects installation assignment

The portal uses a handyman’s current availability status to guide job assignment decisions:
  • Only handymen with Available status are shown as ideal candidates when you assign a new installation.
  • When you assign a job to a handyman, their availability status changes to Busy automatically. Their current location field is also updated to reflect the job address.
  • A handyman returns to Available once their jobs are resolved — either completed or cancelled.
If you need to assign an installation to a handyman who is currently Busy, you can still do so by selecting them manually. Check their schedule first to confirm they have capacity during the required time slot.
Handymen with On Leave status are excluded from the default availability view. If you cannot find a handyman in the list during assignment, check whether their status has been set to On Leave.

Understanding time slots

Each available day can have one or more time slots, each defined by a start time and an end time. Time slots represent the windows when the handyman has indicated they can accept work.
The day card shows one or more time range badges, such as 09:00 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 17:00. Schedule your installation within one of these windows to avoid conflicts.
