The Partner Portal includes a built-in messaging feature that lets you communicate directly with handymen from within the platform. You can send job instructions, share reference images, and confirm schedules — all without switching to a separate messaging app.
Messaging in the portal is initiated from your side. The handyman receives your messages on their end and can reply, but you cannot receive incoming messages from handymen outside of the conversation thread opened here.

Open the messaging modal

Find the handyman in the table

Navigate to the Handymen page. Use the search bar or filters to locate the handyman you want to contact.

Click the message icon

In the Message column of the handyman’s row, click the chat bubble icon. The messaging modal opens with the selected handyman’s name and avatar shown in the header.

View the conversation history

The modal loads your previous message history with this handyman automatically. If no messages have been sent yet, the panel shows a prompt to start the conversation.
You can also open the messaging modal from inside the handyman’s profile. Click the eye icon to open their profile, then use the Message action from there.

Send a text message

Type your message

Click in the text input at the bottom of the modal and type your message.

Send the message

Press Enter or click the send button (arrow icon) to the right of the input. Your message appears in the conversation thread on the right side, while messages from the handyman appear on the left.

Send an image

You can attach a photo or document image to your message — useful for sending site photos, product references, or installation diagrams.

Click the image button

Click the image icon to the left of the text input. Your device’s file picker opens.

Select an image

Choose an image file from your device. Accepted formats are standard image types (JPEG, PNG, etc.). The maximum file size is 10 MB.

Preview and send

A thumbnail preview appears above the input bar showing the file name and size. Click the send button to upload and deliver the image to the handyman. Click the × on the preview to cancel and choose a different file.
You cannot type a text message at the same time as attaching an image. The text input is disabled while an image is selected. Send the image first, then type any follow-up text separately.

Common use cases

Use messaging to send the handyman any special instructions for the job before they leave for the site — for example, access codes, customer preferences, or product-specific notes.
Send a quick message to confirm the appointment time and address with the handyman, especially if the schedule was recently updated.
Attach an image of the installation location, the product to be installed, or a completed job photo for the handyman’s reference.
If a handyman’s status is Busy and you need an update, send a message directly rather than calling. The conversation thread keeps a record of all communication.

Message history

Every conversation is persisted. When you re-open the messaging modal for the same handyman, the full thread loads automatically from the top. Messages are displayed in chronological order with timestamps showing either the time (for messages sent today) or the date and time (for older messages).
