Understanding the installation lifecycle
Learn the stages a smart home installation moves through in the CRM, from initial draft to customer approval or cancellation.
An installation represents a single smart home setup job — from the moment it is created to the day the customer signs off. The CRM tracks each installation through a defined set of statuses so that admins, managers, and partners always know where a job stands. Understanding the lifecycle helps your team coordinate handymen, communicate with customers, and close jobs without things falling through the cracks.
Lifecycle stages
Draft
The installation has been created but is not yet scheduled. Use this stage to capture the basic details — title, customer, and partner — before a date is confirmed.
Scheduled
A date has been set for the installation. The job is awaiting handyman assignment.
Assigned
A handyman has been assigned to the job. Everything is in place and the installation is ready to begin.
In Progress
The handyman is on-site and the installation work is underway.
Completed
The handyman has finished the work and marked the job as complete. The installation is awaiting customer review.
Customer Approved
The customer has reviewed and signed off on the installation. The job is fully closed.
Cancelled
The installation was cancelled before completion. No further action is required.
Note
You can filter installations by any of these statuses in the Installations view. Use the Filter by status dropdown alongside the search bar to narrow the list.
Status transitions
You move an installation between statuses from the installation detail page. Open any installation by clicking its row in the Installations list, then use the status controls on the detail page to advance or update the job's state.
